Francesco Guidolin will be back in the dugout on Saturday for what he is calling Swansea's biggest game of the season.

Victory over doomed Aston Villa on Saturday Night Football will give City an 11-point cushion on the bottom three, with Sunderland and Newcastle not in action until their Super Sunday derby.

And the home side will be lifted by the return of their head coach, who spent time in hospital recently and has missed the past three matches.

"We have an important game on Saturday, and it the most important game of the season for us," Guidolin said at his pre-match press conference.

"We have to play well and we hope to get a good result to take into the last part of the season. But we have to just focus on this game because it won't be easy.

"I know their situation, and I know how difficult matches like this can be. But I hope to see my team play well, with concentration and intensity."

Guidolin's short-term Swansea deal is up in the summer, when Italy boss Antonio Conte will stand down.

"I am happy if my name is on the list but I know nothing," Guidolin said. "Two years ago when Conte got the national team I was very close to getting the job, but now it is only rumours.

"I think only of Swansea and to help my team, my club, my players. This season is not an easy season and my only focus is on this season."

Gylfi Sigurdsson, who has seven goals in 11 matches, will be looking to score for the third straight weekend.

Guidolin said: "Gylfi is an important player for us. He's a No 10 with many qualities, he's very clever and during this period he's scored many goals and I'm happy for him."
