Southend have signed attacking midfielder Sam McQueen on loan from Southampton until the end of the season.
The 20-year-old is highly rated by the Saints and was offered a new four-year deal at St Mary's in June 2014.
McQueen told Blues Player: "It feels very good to join Southend.
"I'm excited for what's to come and I'm just looking forward to getting started, getting on the pitch and playing some football.
"I want to be scoring goals, getting assists and providing that killer ball in the final third, I want to try and get points for the team, push up and get promotion."
