Leicester City have confirmed Ricardo Pereira will miss the rest of the season with an anterior cruciate ligament injury.
The Portuguese defender was injured in Leicester's win over Aston Villa on Monday night and Brendan Rodgers confirmed he is facing a long spell on the sidelines.
"He had a challenge in the game which has hurt his ACL and means he will be out for the rest of the season," Rodgers said.
"James Maddison will be out for a few weeks until after the international break. We have one or two other little niggles but they are the main ones that won't feature this weekend.
"He (Pereira) is a brilliant player who has been great for us all season, he's been very consistent in games and in training so that is a big blow for us.
"It's a chance for someone else to come in and play but it's a shame for him because he's been playing so well for us."
