Belgium head coach Roberto Martinez is not in contention to become the next Leicester manager, Sky Sports News understands.

Martinez is said to be on Leicester's shortlist to replace Claude Puel, who was sacked on Saturday, but it is understood the former Everton manager is fully focused on taking Belgium into the Euros.

Brendan Rodgers and Rafa Benitez are the other contenders to succeed Puel, according to Sky sources, but, in the meantime, Leicester are said to be considering an interim appointment until the end of the season.

Rafa Benitez responds to being linked to Leicester

The Leicester hierarchy fear deals for Benitez and Rodgers, who manage Newcastle and Celtic respectively, may take some time to negotiate so are pursuing a temporary option.

Sky Sports News also understands that Neil Lennon would listen to Leicester if they opt to appoint an interim manager until the end of the season.
