Demarai Gray admits the lure of playing in the Champions League was a factor in his decision to join Leicester City.

The Foxes are just two points off Premier League leaders Arsenal and seven clear of fifth-placed Manchester United with a place at the top tier of European football very much in their sights.

Gray, who completed a £3.75m move from Birmingham City on Tuesday, is confident Leicester can maintain their push for a top-four finish at the end of the season.

"That's another thing that crossed my mind when I was thinking about signing for the club," he said. "No one seems over excited in the changing room everyone understands the position they are in.

"As long as they keep working for each other I don't see how it can go wrong and why the whole team can't push for Champions League next year."

Leicester have been the surprise package in this season's Premier League and Gray feels a big factor in that over-achievement has been the team spirit fostered on the training ground.

"I'm sure nobody expected them to be where they are now," he said. "It just shows what a great bunch of lads they are.

"That's off the pitch as well because I haven't played a game yet but being around the lads and that environment, everyone is together.

"The way they have carried themselves here and have brought it onto the pitch I can see why they are where they are.  I'm just looking forward to playing with the lads and getting involved."
