Leicester City forward Jamie Vardy has changed the date of his wedding in order to be available for next summer’s European Championship.

Vardy has been in sensational form for the Foxes this season and tops the Premier League scoring charts with 12 goals.

The 28-year-old made his England debut in the goalless draw with the Republic of Ireland in June and has since made three more appearances for Roy Hodgson's side.

The former Fleetwood Town striker could add to that number in the coming week, with England set to face Spain as well as European Championship hosts France in preparation for next summer's showpiece.

Vardy's wedding to his fiancee, Becky, was booked for June, but the possibility of a place in the England squad prompted a change of plan.

"I was due to get married bang on the start of the Euros," Vardy told the Daily Mail.

"The missus was on to me to move it. I thought it was fine. Then we moved it just to be on the safe side after I had my first call-up.
