Tony Pulis is refusing to accept the High Court judgement that ordered him to pay £3.7m to his former club Crystal Palace, according to Sky sources.
Pulis, who now manages West Brom, is determined to continue his legal fight in any way he can.
In his verdict last week, the judge Sir Michael Burton called Pulis' conduct "disgraceful" and questioned the truthfulness of his evidence.
Pulis, 58, is now desperate to clear his name even if it means risking further legal costs.
However, it is understood that under legal rules Pulis cannot challenge the decision of the High Court or appeal against its decision.
He can only continue his legal challenge if he can point to new evidence to support his case, which is something Pulis is now discussing with his lawyers.
The case centres on a £2m bonus Pulis was paid for keeping Crystal Palace in the Premier League in 2014 - a payment that Palace paid early, just days before Pulis told the club he wanted to leave.
