Derby will host Brighton in Nigel Pearson's first competitive game on the opening day of the Sky Bet Championship season.
Pearson was confirmed as the new Rams boss in May and his bid to lead the club back to the Premier League starts against their fellow beaten play-off semi-finalists on August 6.
Derby's first away game will be a trip to newly-promoted Barnsley on August 13, while the season ends with a trip to Rotherham on May 7.
The first East Midlands derby of the season is not until December 8 when Nottingham Forest visit Pride Park.
Pearson's side will make the return trip to the City Ground on March 18 while the first Midlands derby is the visit of Aston Villa on August 20.
