Sunderland forward Duncan Watmore has issued a rallying call following the 3-0 home defeat to Everton on Monday night.
The Black Cats conceded three goals in 11 second-half minutes - all scored by Romelu Lukaku - at the Stadium of Light to suffer their third loss of the season.
A haul of one point from four games leaves Sunderland sitting down in 19th place in the Premier League table ahead of Sunday's trip to Tottenham, live on Sky Sports 1, and Watmore knows they need to start performing.
"Everyone is taking responsibility; it is just frustrating because you cannot defend like that," he told his club's official website.
"We know that and we know we can do better and that is what we want to do next week - put in a much better performance.
"It is a learning curve, but we need to do it quickly.
"We needed to start well, we need more points and we will try to do that starting with Tottenham. We need to stay positive."
