Ashley Cole has confirmed he would consider a return to English football with Birmingham City.

Sky Sports News reported Cole was open to the possibility of joining the Sky Bet Championship side last month, with the former Chelsea left-back interested in following Robbie Keane to St Andrew's - after Harry Redknapp revealed his admiration for the pair.

Since then neither player has had more talks with Birmingham, according to Sky sources, with Keane now close to agreeing a deal to play under Teddy Sheringham at Indian Super League side Atletico de Kolkata.

Cole has now confirmed he is considering the Blues as his next destination, with his contract at current side LA Galaxy nearing an end.
