Double boost for Whites

Patrick Kisnorbo and Ben Parker both returned to action following long-term injuries as Leeds kicked off pre-season with a 2-0 win at Falkirk.

Centre-half Kisnorbo, who last week signed a new two-year deal at Elland Road, missed all but 10 minutes of last season after rupturing his Achilles, while left-back Parker has had seven operations over the course of the last two seasons due to hamstring, hip and calf injuries. Manager Simon Grayson, whose side ran out winners against Falkirk thanks to an own goal and a Robert Snodgrass header, said of his fit-again defenders: "They've done all the work they've been asked to do. "Paddy was a natural progression to play between 45 minutes and an hour and similarly Ben, who played 45. We didn't want to push him too much, but he'll play 45/60 minutes at the weekend. "I'm delighted to have them back, hopefully their injuries are behind them and we'll have two good players coming back into the team." Summer signings Michael Brown and goalkeeper Paul Rachubka both made their first appearances for Leeds, who take on Motherwell on Saturday.
