Leeds manager Marcelo Bielsa reacted angrily to being questioned about 'Spygate' as he prepares to renew his rivalry with Derby County.
The 63-year-old and Leeds were embroiled in controversy earlier this year when an employee of the club, acting under instruction from Bielsa, was caught outside Derby's training ground ahead of a match between the sides.
Third-placed Leeds suffered a 3-2 defeat to Ipswich on Sunday, while Derby claimed a 3-1 win over West Brom to finish sixth and set up the two-legged renewal of hostilities.
Bielsa was asked about whether he would spy on the Rams once more ahead of the first leg of their Championship semi-final play-off on Saturday, live on Sky Sports.
He replied: "You know that it's a crime to spy? Do you know that?
"When you have a level of ignorance and you work as a journalist, when you have the right to ask questions, when you're lying in your answers, when you don't assume the irony and you keep telling me that you don't know if spying is a crime or not, you deserve a response without any content.
"You make your question knowing that observing an opponent is now sanctioned. You know this perfectly and that's why you ask this question.
"Then you deny the fact that you know the answer and you know I received a sanction because of it. That's why I don't understand that question."
Leeds were subsequently handed a £200,000 fine by the EFL and given a formal reprimand, and may now be fined again, for failing to control their players during a controversial 1-1 draw with Aston Villa last weekend.
Bielsa revealed this week that he personally paid the £200,000 fine because he deemed the offence to be his responsibility.
When Bielsa was told he lacked a sense of humour given his angry response, the Leeds head coach added: "Is it a joke? If it was a joke I didn't understand it. It's not that I don't have a sense of humour. It's that you're not funny."
