Highlights of the Sky Bet Championship match between Ipswich and Nottingham Forest.

Britt Assombalonga scored twice in the first half as Nottingham Forest secured their first away win of the season, 2-0 at Ipswich.

The striker scored the Sky Bet Championship's fastest goal this season 17 seconds into the game to put Forest into the lead at Portman Road.

Assombalonga then added his second, and sixth of the season, in added time at the end of the first half as Ipswich struggled to deal with the 23-year-old in a dominant 45 minutes from the away side.

Tom Lawrence twice had penalty shouts turned down in the second half as Ipswich changed to a more attacking formation in search of a comeback, but Philippe Montanier's Forest side held on for only their second win in 13 league games in front of the club's potential new owners.

John Jay Moores, who is part of a United States consortium understood to be interested in buying Forest, was at Portman Road as Daniel Pinillos made his return to the Forest starting line-up for the first time in 11 months following an injury, while Ipswich remained unchanged from their win over Sheffield Wednesday.

Despite Wednesday's form it was Forest who marched into the lead though inside a minute, with Ben Osborn latching onto a loose ball to unleash Assombalonga, who slotted past Bartosz Bialkowski into the bottom corner.

Ipswich needed until the 19th minute to threaten the Forest goal after the away side dominated the early exchanges, with Lawrence's free-kick swerving wide of the top corner.

David McGoldrick then almost rocked his former club after half an hour following a deft flick-on from Lawrence, but the Ipswich forward's left-foot shot was beaten away by Vladimir Stojkovic.

Damien Perquis nearly doubled Forest's lead eight minutes later though after meeting an Osborn corner at the back post, but his effort was cleared off the line by Ben Knudsen.

Assombalonga made sure Forest went in at the break two goals ahead in stoppage time at the end of the first half, reacting quickest to Matt Mills' knockdown to score from six yards out.

Jonny Williams was introduced for the second half but Mick McCarthy's Ipswich only threatened with two penalty shouts, with Lawrence twice being denied a spot kick following challenges from Michael Mancienne and Perquis.

Forest's Pajtim Kasami came closest to affecting the score when his shot cannoned off the post in the 64th minute, but the away side saw out a comfortable 2-0 win to move up to 18th in the table, one place behind Ipswich.

Nottingham Forest manager Philippe Montanier:

"I am very happy because it's the first victory away. We continued like the last two games but we were more efficient. We need to be efficient to score.

"We had 12 shots, nine on target, perhaps that made the difference tonight.

"Often the striker makes the difference. At the start of the season Olivier Burke did it, now it is important that Britt (Assombalonga) keeps confident."

Ipswich manager Mick McCarthy said:

"It was an all-round bad day at the office. There couldn't have been many more awful goals conceded than their first - I didn't expect them to get such a fast start.

"And the second goal was also abysmal, coming just before half-time. We made a catalogue of mistakes for both goals and they capitalised. We rallied in the second half but it was always going to be difficult to go through them.

"For a team who had seven clean sheets in 11 games, there is no chance of us getting a clean sheet playing like that."
