New Reading manager Jaap Stam will begin the 2016/17 Sky Bet Championship season with a home match against Preston North End on August 6.
The former Manchester United defender, who was appointed Royals boss in June on a two-year deal, will take his new side to Wolverhampton Wanderers in his first away trip a week later, which is followed by a clash against Newcastle United at St James' Park on August 17.
Reading will be looking to improve on last season's finish of 17th and host Norwich City at the Madejski Stadium on Boxing Day.
They conclude the campaign with a trip to the Pirelli Stadium to face newly-promoted Burton on May 7.
