M'Baye Niang leaves AC Milan for Watford on initial loan deal

Watford have completed the signing of AC Milan forward M'Baye Niang.

The France U21 international joins initially on a loan deal until the summer, when Watford will have the option of signing him permanently.

Niang made his name as a teenage prodigy at Caen and went on to become AC Milan's second-youngest goalscorer at 17 years, 350 days in 2012.

Now aged 22, he becomes Watford's third signing of the January transfer window following deals for Mauro Zarate and Tom Cleverley.

Niang, who will wear the No 21 shirt, told the Watford website his decision to come owed a lot to the presence of former Inter boss Walter Mazzari and two players he knows from Serie A.

"I'm very happy to come here," he said. "For me the manager is a very, very important in my choice.

"I know players who play here - Stefano Okaka and Roberto Pereyra. For me they're very good players and I'm excited to play with them."
