Striker Alessandro Diamanti has cut short his loan spell at Watford and joined Atalanta from his parent club Guangzhou Evergrande.
The 32-year-old Tuscan made just three appearances for Watford, all off the bench, having moved to the Premier League club on a season-long loan deal in August.
Now the former West Ham star, who has also played for Fiorentina and Bologna in Serie A, is back in Italy with Atalanta and will be at coach Edy Reja's disposal for Saturday's meeting with Inter Milan.
A statement published on Atalanta's official website revealed Diamanti - capped by Italy 17 times - would wear the No 23 shirt at the Stadio Atleti Azzurri d'Italia.
