Match in a minute: West Ham 1-1 Stoke

Charlie Nicholas looks back on the 1-1 draw between West Ham and Stoke

Charlie Nicholas did the honours for Soccer Saturday as West Ham's slow-burner against Stoke finished 1-1.

A game of few early highlights came to life in the final half-hour as Slaven Bilic's double change reaped immediate reward in the shape of a Glenn Whelan own-goal.

That might have been enough to give the Hammers a third straight win at the London Stadium but for the unfortunate intervention of their goalkeeper Adrian.

The Spaniard was nowhere close to beating Jon Walters to a through-ball and instead took out the Stoke forward as the ball was lifted over his head.

A penalty would surely have followed, but Stoke substitute Bojan spared referee Andre Marriner the bother as he swept in the loose ball on the volley.

Neither side managed to find a winner in a lively final spell, meaning Stoke left east London with their unbeaten Premier League run now standing at six matches.
