Fulham have bid for Nottingham Forest defender Michael Mancienne, according to Sky sources.

Cottagers manager Kit Symons is still on the hunt for a new central defender despite completing the signing of USA international Tim Ream from Bolton last week.

Fulham had a succession of bids rejected for Brighton's Lewis Dunk, who has subsequently signed a new contract at the south coast club.

it is understood Symons also holds an interest in Brentford defender James Tarkowski but they have turned their attentions to former England U21 Mancienne.

The 27-year-old joined Forest from Hamburg last summer for £1m to play under Stuart Pearce, signing a three-year-deal, and he made 38 appearances across all competitions.
