Middlesbrough interim manager Steve Agnew has added the vastly-experienced Joe Jordan to his coaching staff.

Agnew took charge of the Premier League strugglers on Thursday after Aitor Karanka departed the club following a run of three defeats.

Jordan, 65, previously managed Hearts and Stoke City and had two spells in charge of Bristol City while he was also assistant to Harry Redknapp at Portsmouth, Tottenham and QPR.

The former Scotland international took training alongside Agnew on Friday morning, with both men preparing for their first game which comes against Manchester United on Sunday lunchtime.
