Sergio Aguero admitted his hat-trick goal in Manchester City's Premier League win over Arsenal may have been handball - but only after he saw replays on TV.
Aguero scored all three of City's goals in a 3-1 win over the Gunners at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday, with his third, a sliding effort from Raheem Sterling's low cross, appearing to strike his thigh before rebounding over the line off his arm, which was by his side.
After the game, Aguero told Sky Sports: "Honestly, I thought it came off the chest but now I saw on the TV it was a handball, maybe.
"It's good to have 10 hat-tricks. But it's [more] important to win, even though I'm happy to score. It's important to score early because the other day, I scored after 25 seconds and we lost, but I'm very happy today.
"It is important to score and win. It's important to fight in every game. Now we have to think about Everton (on Wednesday) because it will be so difficult."
The Sky Sports pundits were split after the game on whether Aguero's goal should have been disallowed for a foul, which sealed his 10th Premier League hat-trick - second only to Alan Shearer in the all-time standings.
Graeme Souness said: "It comes off the bottom of his elbow. I don't think it should stand but then he should have had a penalty in the first half. It's not deliberate, he just wanted to get any part of his body on it."
However, Jamie Carragher disagreed, adding: "I think it would have been harsh to take it away from him. I don't think there was too much handball in there."
