Manchester City are not looking to sell Sergio Aguero in the summer and see him as part of their long-term plans, Sky sources understand.

Aguero has been used as a substitute in City's past two Premier League games, with recent signing Gabriel Jesus preferred in attack.

Jesus has made an excellent start to his career in English football, scoring three goals in those two games, following a January transfer from Brazilian club Palmeiras.

Aguero still has more than three years left on his contract at the club after signing a new deal last month.

It is understood that City and manager Pep Guardiola are planning for the future with Aguero and are not looking to move the striker on in the summer transfer window.

"When you're on the bench you have to wait for your opportunity," he told goal.com after Sunday's win over Swansea City.

Speaking on Friday, Guardiola praised new signing Gabriel Jesus but said he was happy with Aguero

"I have three months to do my best and try to help the team and we'll see what happens with my future.
