Manchester City will stay in South Wales after Wednesday's EFL Cup third round clash with Swansea City with the teams facing a double-header this week.
Pep Guardiola says he was not keen to get back to Manchester in the early hours of Thursday morning and then have to return for their Premier League meeting at the Liberty Stadium on Saturday.
City coach Mikel Arteta secured his coaching badges at a course run by the Football Association of Wales and the squad will train at Dragon Park, the Wales National Football Development Centre in Newport, as they prepare for their sixth league game of the season.
"We play Wednesday and Saturday," Guardiola said.
"We play at night on the Wednesday. We are going to finish late, if we come back here on Thursday to recover, then on Friday morning, we will have to come back again.
"I would prefer to be there to recover because this week is so important for us. We have two Premier League away games. We also have a crucial game in the Champions League in Glasgow (against Celtic next Wednesday).
"I want us to have a good recovery, train well, prepare as well as possible for our two games in Swansea, for our game in the Champions League and for Tottenham away. Everybody will travel down."
