Manchester City defender Eliaquim Mangala has completed his move to Valencia on a loan deal until the end of the 2016/17 season.
Mangala, who started 24 Premier League games for City last season, arrived at the Etihad two years ago after impressing for Standard Liege and Porto.
The La Liga side has been searching for defensive back-up following the departure of Shkodran Mustafi who joined Arsenal on Tuesday in a deal that could be worth up to £35m.
Mangala, part of France's squad for this summer's Euro 2016, has been deemed surplus to requirement by new manager Pep Guardiola at City.
A statement on the Premier League club's website read: "Everyone at City would like to wish Eliaquim the best of luck at Valencia!"
Guardiola has reinforced his defence with the acquisition of John Stones this summer, with Nicolas Otamendi partnering the England international at centre-back in City's last two Premier League games.
Mangala, 25, joined City in a £32m deal from Porto two years ago.
