Manchester City treat fans at Cityzens Weekend where new head coach and kit are unveiled

Pep Guardiola's arrival as Manchester City head coach was just one of the highlights for the club's supporters on Sunday, who now know what their new home kit looks like.

City's Football Academy has been opened up to fans for Cityzens Weekend, with the club celebrating what they describe as a "new era".

They unveiled a new badge last week, with a spectacular light show at the Town Hall, and had new signing Ilkay Gungodan in attendance on Sunday as Guardiola took part in a Q&A session, answering questions put to him by supporters.

And that was followed by the unveiling of City's new Nike home kit, with Kelechi Iheanacho on hand to show it off, along with members of City's women's and academy teams.

Guardiola took questions from fans in person and from across the world on social media, and he said the ultimate goal is for City to "play good football" that they all can be proud of.

The former Bayern Munich boss said the development of City's academy, based on the model of Barca's famous 'La Masia', was crucial in his decision to join the club.

Gundogan is one of City's high-profile summer signings, having joined the club from Borussia Dortmund for £21m.

He faces a delayed start to the season but is hoping to be back from a knee injury by the time City face Manchester United in their first derby clash of 2016-17 on September 10.

"Our target is end of August, September and September 10 is the derby, so I could be ready for it, but it's difficult to say," he said.
