With the pass master himself Pep Guardiola coming to the Premier League in the summer, expect the usual jokes about whether or not he can do it against Stoke City and the rest.
But we do have a clue about his ability to get results in England. He has already taken the reins in 10 games on English soil - with mixed results thus far.
In fact, Guardiola, the most sought-after coach in world football, actually has a losing record in this country, having been beaten four times in his 10 matches, winning three and drawing three.
He has tasted defeat against his new club Manchester City, at Chelsea in the first leg of a memorable semi-final in 2012 and on two separate occasions against Arsenal at the Emirates.
Here's the rundown of all 10 of his matches…
Chelsea 1 Barcelona 1, May 2009 (CL semi-final second leg)
Andres Iniesta's stoppage-time strike sent Barcelona through to the Champions League final on away goals in controversial circumstances. Guus Hiddink's Chelsea had been denied a series of strong penalty claims prior to the sting in the tail that saw Barca go through amid chaotic scenes.
Arsenal 2 Barcelona 2, March 2010 (CL quarter-final first leg)
Barcelona outplayed Arsenal at the Emirates and their dominance was rewarded as Zlatan Ibrahimovic put them two up inside the hour. But the Gunners rallied and a Theo Walcott goal followed by a Cesc Fabregas penalty salvaged a draw. Barca progressed with a win at the Nou Camp.
Arsenal 2 Barcelona 1, February 2011 (CL round of 16 first leg)
The pattern of the previous season was repeated when the two teams met in 2011. David Villa gave Barca the lead but goals by Robin van Persie and Andrey Arshavin in the final 15 minutes won the game for the Gunners. However, Guardiola's men turned the tie around in the second leg.
Man Utd 1 Barcelona 3, May 2011 (CL final)
Guardiola's only game in England that wasn't technically an away tie was the trip to Wembley for the 2011 Champions League final against Manchester United. Barca were the better side throughout and goals from Villa, Lionel Messi and Pedro secured Guardiola's second European Cup triumph as coach.
Chelsea 1 Barcelona 0, April 2012 (CL semi-final first leg)
Barca were the holders and huge favourites but, despite having only 30 per cent of possession, Roberto Di Matteo's Chelsea grabbed the only goal of the game through Didier Drogba. The Blues completed their victory at the Nou Camp and went on to win the Champions League in Munich.
Man City 1 Bayern Munich 3, October 2013 (CL group stage)
Having failed to pick up an away win against Premier League opposition during his time at Barcelona, Guardiola did so at the first attempt for Bayern. Goals by Frank Ribery, Thomas Muller and Arjen Robben put the German side three up inside the hour to seal a comprehensive group-stage win.
Arsenal 0 Bayern Munich 2, February 2014 (CL round of 16 first leg)
Wojciech Szczesny's first-half red card for bringing down Robben inside the area proved an insurmountable obstacle for Arsenal. David Alaba missed the resulting penalty but second-half goals by Toni Kroos and Muller followed and Bayern duly finished the job in Bavaria.
Man Utd 1 Bayern Munich 1, April 2014 (CL quarter-final first leg)
In the next round against Manchester United, Bayern were troubled by a dogged Manchester United effort at Old Trafford. Nemanja Vidic gave David Moyes' side the lead, while Danny Welbeck wasted a one-on-one chance, before Bastian Schweinsteiger equalised. Guardiola's men won the second leg.
Man City 3 Bayern Munich 2, November 2014 (CL group stage)
The Catalan has already had a close-up look at what Manchester City are capable of at the Etihad Stadium having seen his Bayern side beaten by them last season. City had looked set for defeat but two late goals by Sergio Aguero completed his hat-trick and kept their qualification hopes alive.
Arsenal 2 Bayern Munich 0, October 2015 (CL group stage)
Guardiola's most recent experience coaching on English soil ended in defeat. Bayern dominated possession, enjoying 73 per cent of the ball, but could not find a goal and were punished late on when Olivier Giroud and Mesut Ozil scored to win the game for Arsenal by two clear goals.
