Chesterfield concluded their pre-season programme with a 3-1 victory over Aston Villa at the Proact Stadium.
Tendayi Darikwa and Sam Hird fired last season's League Two champions into a 2-0 half-time lead on Wednesday night before a young Villa side pulled a goal back through substitute Jack Grealish early in the second half. However, Sam Morsy added a late third goal for the Spireites - the midfielder's fourth of pre-season - to inflict a first defeat of the summer on Villa.
