Tottenham have made an appeal for wrongful dismissal against Heung-Min Son's red card at Bournemouth on Saturday, Sky Sports News understands.
Spurs had until 1pm on Tuesday to lodge the appeal - in the hope of freeing the forward up for the final game of the season at home to Everton.
After viewing the incident, Spurs believe a red card and three game ban to be excessive.
As it stands, the South Korea international will also be banned for the first two games of next season.
Two minutes before half-time at the Vitality Stadium, Son reacted angrily to a challenge from Jefferson Lerma and pushed the Bournemouth midfielder in the chest.
Lerma fell to the ground and referee Craig Pawson produced a red card - Son's first dismissal since he was a Bayer Leverkusen player in October 2014.
Dermot Gallagher told Sky Sports News that Pawson made a 'correct call' but Spurs will reportedly contest that it was violent conduct.
Spurs were subsequently reduced to nine men when Juan Foyth was shown a straight red just after half-time - and then lost 1-0 to an injury time Nathan Ake goal.
However Mauricio Pochettino's team are still set for a top-four finish and Champions League qualification after Sunday's results went their way.
