Harry Kane's evolution has been incredible, says Roberto Martinez

Roberto Martinez says Harry Kane's form has evolved incredibly in the last four years and has reached the highest level in world football

England striker Harry Kane's evolution over the last four years has been "incredible", according to Belgium manager Roberto Martinez.

The two nations will go head to head in their final World Cup Group G clash at the Kaliningrad Stadium on June 28, and Martinez is impressed with the Tottenham forward's progression.

"If you are looking at Harry Kane's level of form, he is someone who has evolved incredibly over the last four years," Martinez told Goals on Sunday.

"You are looking at young players using games to game, and Harry Kane has got into the highest level in world football."

However, the Spaniard - who played in Britain for 12 years, before coaching Swansea City, Wigan Athletic and Everton - believes playing Gareth Southgate's side in the final group match will suit both teams.

"My management career has been in the British game, I have been 21 years in the British game so I have a huge attachment to England," he said.

"I would not like to face England in the knockout stage, it is all or nothing and I do not think it would be a nice story.

"At the moment we are in the group stage so there is a little bit of a margin of error. And then you do not face each other until the final.

"So from that point of view, when you let it settle, it is the best possible outcome."
