The 24-year-old was not just prolific in the Premier League, however, with goals for England in World Cup Qualifying and Tottenham in the European Cup taking his overall tally for September to 13 in eight matches.

Kane's accolade means he joins Wayne Rooney and Robin van Persie in winning the award on five occasions, just behind Steven Gerrard who leads the way on six.
