Harry Kane admits he was disappointed not to score a hat-trick in the 5-0 demolition of Swansea on Saturday.
The Tottenham striker scored two to cap off a special week for the England man in which he signed a new contract to stay at Spurs until 2022.
Kane has now scored six goals in his five games since returning from ankle ligament damage, which kept him out for seven weeks.
"I was itching to get the hat-trick," Kane, told Spurs TV.
"I had a couple of chances towards the end where the keeper pulled off a good save and then a couple of tired finishes, you could say, but I'm happy with the two goals and the most important thing is the three points."
Tottenham remain fifth in the table but are now only three points behind Manchester City in fourth.
"It was a very good performance," Kane said.
"It started a bit slow, we had to be patient, they obviously came to frustrate us and drop off but we moved the ball quicker today, we created a lot of chances, obviously got the first two goals before half-time and then the third straight after.
"That really gave us the momentum for that second half and we went out there and got the big win."
