Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino pleased with Liverpool draw

Mauricio Pochettino says Tottenham's 1-1 draw with Liverpool was a passionate game full of high-tempo and he was happy with his side's display

Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino was satisfied with his side's performance after after drawing 1-1 with Liverpool on Saturday.

Spurs fell behind just before half-time after Erik Lamela clipped Roberto Firmino in the area with James Milner stepping up to score the penalty. 

But Danny Rose secured a point for the hosts in a much improved second-half display, hitting home in the 72nd minuite, and Pochettino was happy to see an improvement in his side.

"I'm happy with the performance. We started very well in the game," the Tottenham manager told Sky Sports.

"After 15 minutes, I think we had some problems with Kyle Walker that we needed to change a little bit the way we were prepared to play, but I'm happy.

"I'm happy to see a great football game. I think it was passionate game that was high tempo. I think it was really good to see this type of game. Playing Liverpool is always difficult, they have very good players.

"In the first half, they maybe deserved but in the second half we deserved more and then it was 50-50 so a fair result."

Tottenham have continued their unbeaten run at the start of the new Premier League season and it was a full house with Pochettino also pleased with their recent form.

"I think our start is good. I am happy after three games but we need to follow on. I think last season we had a difficult start but I am pleased with the start of this season."
