Hugo Lloris will miss Tottenham's Europa League match at Fiorentina after injuring his shoulder against Manchester City.

The 29 year-old suffered a slight knock to his right shoulder in the final minute of his side's 2-1 victory at the Etihad on Sunday.

The France international is expected to miss Thursday's match in Florence as well as Tottenham's FA Cup fifth round tie at home to Crystal Palace on Sunday.

Lloris will be replaced by second-choice keeper Michel Vorm, who has featured heavily for Spurs in cup competitions this season.

Mauricio Pochettino confirmed Lloris' injury at a press conference ahead of his side's first-leg round of 32 tie.

"We know now we have a squad and we believe that Michel is a very good, a top goalkeeper too, and we believe in him and trust in him."

Tottenham were beaten 2-0 at the Artemio Franchi Stadium at the same stage of the Europa League last season. However, Pochettino believes his side a better equipped to face the Viola this time round.

"Last season was very different, some different players and we are in a different period now," he said.

"Fiorentina are the same because they have a different coach and different players, too. It is a very different team to last season, a different game completely.

"My attitude was to try and win the game [last year] and tomorrow it is the same. It is a very important competition for us, we have a strong squad."

Pochettino has included academy prospects Josh Onomah and Cameron Carter-Vickers in his squad for the trip to Italy. However, the Argentine will have to cope without Jan Vertonghen and Clinton Njie who both remain side-lined through knee injuries.
