Mauricio Pochettino was happy with Tottenham's offensive display at Everton but his players were upset they failed to win.

Spurs travelled to Merseyside on the back of three victories over the festive period but failed to kick 2016 off with a win as the Toffees held them to a 1-1 draw.

The visitors dominated large spells of the first half at Goodison Park but had to Dele Alli to thank after his strike in the 45th minute levelled Aaron Lennon's opener.

"We can be proud, it was a fantastic performance," Pochettino told Sky Sports. "The first half was amazing, an amazing performance, the team played very well.

"We started the second half in the same way, but maybe in the last 15 minutes Everton drew level.
