Jed Wallace's stunning second-half strike derailed 10-man Plymouth's play-off dreams as they lost 2-1 to Portsmouth.
Wallace nestled his pile-driver into the bottom-left corner for his 16th goal of the campaign 53 seconds after half-time. Ryan Taylor doubled the lead with a powerful header in the 76th minute before Olly Lee sublimely volleyed in a consolation less than two minutes later, to give Pompey their second win in nine matches. Matt Tubbs got in behind the Plymouth defence in the first minute but his low shot towards the bottom corner was well kept out by Argyle keeper Luke McCormick's foot. Wallace fired in the opener from the edge of the box before Taylor nodded in Butler's tempting cross. Lee volleyed emphatically into the top-left corner before nearly netting a equaliser with five minutes to go when Jones blocked his point-blank strike. Captain Curtis Nelson was sent off for a second yellow card in the 90th minute after he tripped a countering Wallace as Argyle dropped out of the play-off positions.Wallace scores wonder goal
