Everton have ended their interest in signing Dynamo Kiev forward Andriy Yarmolenko after failing to agree a deal, according to Sky sources.
Ukraine international Yarmolenko impressed Roberto Martinez when scoring in Dynamo's 5-2 win over Everton in the Europa League last season
After the game, the Spaniard called him a "constant threat to his side" who would be "a success in the Premier League", but it looks like he will not now be coming to Goodison Park.
Martinez remains keen to add a playmaker to his squad before the transfer window closes on September 1, however, and is interested in bringing Brazil international Bernard to Merseyside.
Bernard is a left-footed midfielder who began his career at Atletico Mineiro before moving to Ukraine with Shakhtar Donetsk in 2013.
The 22-year-old was named in the Brazil squad for the 2014 World Cup and played against Croatia, Mexico and Germany.
