Everton are in advanced talks to sign Sam Byram from Leeds United, according to Sky sources.

Byram's departure from the Championship club has been anticipated after Leeds failed in their attempts to extend his contract, which expires at the end of this season.

There has also been public criticism from Leeds owner Massimo Cellino in recent weeks as negotiations stalled over a new deal at Elland Road.
