Everton goalscorer Romelu Lukaku felt his Everton side were worthy of all three points after their derby day draw with Liverpool.
The Toffees fell behind to a Danny Ings header in the 42nd minute at Goodison Park, but Lukaku responded to level the score before the break and claim a point, a result which the Belgian believes was the least his side deserved.
"Every player wants to win and if there was a team that were to win the game today it would have been us, because I think we controlled the game," said Lukaku. "But it was a good battle and a good game for the fans.
"Conceding a goal just before half-time was difficult but fortunately we were lucky enough to score and that gave us a boost for the second-half which we dominated. But we didn't have the shots which was disappointing, but it's still promising for the next games."
Lukaku was also full of praise for his team-mates at Everton, who he says are responsible for helping him to improve as a player.
"Credit to my team-mates," he added. "I work hard every single day in training but they keep me on my toes and help me improve.
"I want to help them win the game, today it didn't work but I will work harder to win the next game."
Lukaku was also involved in a late scuffle with Liverpool defender Mamadou Sakho, but the Belgian striker laughed off the incident after the game.
"(It was a) little shove and a challenge, but we are two competitors and I think that's what people like to see."
