Arsenal forward Theo Walcott has put his upturn in form this season down to a mindset developed after talking to Arsene Wenger over the summer.
Walcott, 27, has notched three goals in six Premier League games this season and has been a key part of Arsenal's four straight league victories.
The Gunners began the season with a 4-3 home loss to Liverpool before drawing 0-0 with Leicester at the King Power Stadium. Since then, however, Arsene Wenger's side have picked up maximum points with Walcott coming to the fore.
"I've worked hard from the back end of last season and I've just continued to do that throughout the whole summer and that's all I'm doing," Walcott said.
"Me and the manager sat down and I've just looked at myself. There's no point dwelling on the past, that's what I'm like. I know what I can do and I don't mind what people say because I do know that as long as I work hard, I know what I'm going to be. It's just come down to that."
Walcott is set to start when Arsenal play Basel in their Champion League group A match on Wednesday night and he added his form is due to "wanting it more than anybody else".
"The manager has shown tremendous faith in me and I just want to repay that. You can see that in my desire and the way that I'm playing at the moment," Walcott said.
"I want it more than anyone else, but that's just me and the way that I work now. It's a shame that it only hit me a few years ago because there's been a slight change in my attitude ahead of big games."
