David Ospina says he proved what he is capable of when Arsene Wenger handed him a Champions League start against Paris Saint-Germain.

Wenger decided to replace first-choice Peter Cech with Ospina for their European opener against the French champions, despite the Colombian's error in the same competition handing Olympiacos victory at the Emirates last year.

Ospina seized his opportunity though, denying a number of PSG chances to help the Gunners earn a 1-1 draw at the Parc des Princes, with Wenger labelling the 28-year-old "world class" in his post-match press conference.

Although Cech is expected to come back into the team for the Premier League trip to Hull on Saturday, Ospina is prepared for any opportunity he gets to play.

"We as a team take every opportunity, we work hard for that," Ospina told the Evening Standard. "This was a good match to show what I can do.

"For me, I need to work hard and be ready for every chance when I get to play.

"For us it was the biggest match of the group to play against Paris Saint-Germain, although of course we respect all the other teams in the group.

"It is a good draw and we can build on that but there's a long way to go."

Wenger said based on Ospina's performance the Colombian would continue in goal for his side's next Champions League fixture against Basel, insisting he needs to provide both his goalkeepers with opportunities to play in order to keep them at the club.
