Arsenal forward Alex Iwobi has been hospitalised after falling ill from food poisoning, according to Nigeria coach Samson Siasia.
The 19-year-old, who played for England at U16, U17 and U18 levels before committing his future to the Super Eagles, was too sick to train with the rest of the squad ahead of Friday's Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Egypt.
"He suffered from food poisoning and so was not part of the training. But his condition is stable," said Siasia.
Iwobi, who is the nephew of former Bolton player Jay-Jay Okocha, is likely to have suffered the illness after eating a salad, according to the coach.
He capped his first Premier League start for Arsenal with a goal in the 2-0 win at Everton on Saturday.
Iwobi has played two friendly matches for Nigeria but is yet to feature in a competitive match for them.
