Liverpool striker Rhian Brewster could miss the remainder of the season following surgery.
According to the Liverpool's official website, the 17-year-old will be "sidelined for three to four months" after an operation on an injured ankle.
Brewster, who is yet to play for the first XI at Anfield, sustained ligament damage to his right ankle during an under-23 match against Manchester City.
The surgery was carried out earlier this week and the website added he "will now begin a period of rehabilitation at the Reds' youth base in Kirkby."
Brewster was a member of the England team which was crowned winners of the under-17s World Cup last year.
