Philippe Coutinho knows he must deliver at club level to earn his place in Brazil boss Tite’s starting XI at the World Cup.
The Liverpool playmaker, who was the subject of a number of failed by bids from Barcelona to lure him to Spain last summer, could face a battle for his international place from Chelsea winger Willian.
Brazil lost just once in 18 matches during qualification for the World Cup, finishing 10 points clear of second-placed Uruguay in the standings.
Asked if Brazil can go all the way in Russia and lift the World Cup for a sixth time, Coutinho said: "Yes we have to have the hope.
"We have recuperated, [and regained the] confidence of the Brazilian fans, and for sure we are looking forward now to the World Cup.
"We know there are still some months until the World Cup but we have to do well with the our clubs to be there."
