Chelsea must take it game by game as they look to stay in contact with Premier League leaders Man City after being held to a goalless draw at Everton, says coach Antonio Conte.
The champions dominated proceedings at Goodison Park on Saturday lunchtime, having 25 efforts, with 11 different players having a shot on goal, but were unable to find a way past Jordan Pickford.
And the visitors then fell a daunting 16 points behind City when Pep Guardiola's side beat Bournemouth 4-0 at home later that day.
"A lot of possession and a lot of shots, 26, but only eight on target," said Conte. "We dominated the game and had lots of chances to score, I think this result is unfair.
"Everton deserve credit, but we deserved to win. If you watched the game you could see we played from the start to the end.
"We created many chances, hit the crossbar, and maybe [Jordan] Pickford was the best player. But I praised the effort of my players.
"It is a pity to drop two points. It is normal to drop points with a poor performance, but not today. We needed a bit of luck."
Overall, though, Conte was pleased with his team's performance, and ultimately the result, against an Everton side who failed to have a shot on target in a Premier League home game for the first time since December 2011 against Stoke City.
"It is a good result because we drew against Everton, who after the top six teams is the best team in this league," the Italian said.
"And to create chances and dominate the game here is not simple or easy.
"We have to go game by game, do our best and then sometimes to also have a bit of luck, like when you hit the crossbar.
"But we have to continue playing this way and with this intensity."
