Goalkeeper

Thibaut Courtois will resume his duties as Chelsea's first-choice goalkeeper. The Belgian shot-stopper faces competition from Asmir Begovic, but it would be a huge surprise if he wasn't the first name on the team-sheet against West Ham.

Defence

Conte named Branislav Ivanovic, Gary Cahill, John Terry and Cesar Azpilicueta as his back four for Chelsea's final pre-season game against Werder Bremen, suggesting they could get the nod for Monday's clash with West Ham.

The Blues don't possess great strength in depth at the back, with Kurt Zouma still recovering from a knee ligament injury and Baba Rahman having left the club on loan. Conte will be hoping to bring in reinforcements before the end of the transfer window.

Midfield

N'Golo Kante could make his Chelsea debut on Monday. The £32m signing from Leicester is expected to slot straight into central midfield, where he could be deployed alongside either Cesc Fabregas or Nemanja Matic, with Oscar most likely to be named at number 10.

Attack

Chelsea are reportedly chasing a blockbuster deal to take Romelu Lukaku back to Stamford Bridge, but Diego Costa is likely to lead the line against West Ham having featured prominently in pre-season.

The Blues can also call on new signing Michy Batshuayi, with Willian and Eden Hazard likely to start on the flanks. That would leave the likes of Kenedy, Pedro, Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Juan Cuadrado to fight it out for places on the bench.
