Chelsea striker Loic Remy is still hoping to secure a loan move away from Stamford Bridge before the transfer deadline, according to Sky sources.

It is understood the 29-year-old Frenchman remains frustrated at not getting more playing time under both Jose Mourinho and his successor; current interim head coach Guus Huddink.

English newspapers have reported that Crystal Palace and former club Newcastle are interested in taking Remy on loan, as well as title challengers Leicester.

But Sky sources understand the Foxes, who have allowed striker Andrej Kramaric to join Hoffenheim until the end of the season because of a clutch of forward options, are not interested in taking Remy.

Remy has struggled to break into Chelsea's first team since his £8.5m move in 2014 and has made just one Premier League start all season.

Earlier this month, however, Hiddink insisted he would not be allowed to leave the club in the winter window and was needed to help the struggling Blues rise up the Premier League table.

He said: "He will stay until the end of the season. I have seen little of him because he repeatedly fell into injury.

"I am curious. I hope Remy picks it up. I hope he will deliver if he is needed."
