Manchester United will not be pursuing Zlatan Ibrahimovic in the January transfer window, Sky Sports News understands.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is hoping to bolster the club's striking options when the window opens following the summer departures of Romelu Lukaku and Alexis Sanchez.

But it is believed Manchester United will not be targeting a return for the 38-year-old, who scored 29 goals for the club during a two-year spell at Old Trafford.

The former Sweden international helped the club win the Europa League and Carabao Cup under former boss Jose Mourinho before leaving in March 2018 following a serious knee injury.
