Manchester United are in discussions with Ashley Young over a new one-year contract for the defender, according to Sky sources.

Young's current deal is due to expire at the end of the season but United are considering offering him a second successive one-year extension, having previously triggered a clause in his contract in March.

However, Sky sources understand talks between the two parties are still in the early stages.

The 33-year-old is one of a number of key players who are out of contract next summer, including Anthony Martial, David De Gea and Juan Mata.
