Manchester United may be without Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Michael Carrick for Sunday's EFL Cup final against Southampton.
The duo picked up injuries during Wednesday's Europa League last-32 second leg tie against St-Etienne in France.
And manager Jose Mourinho says in his opinion there is "no chance" the pair will be available to face Southampton at Wembley in five days.
Mkhitaryan netted what proved to be the only goal on the night, making the scoreline 4-0 on aggregate, when he produced a neat finish from a Juan Mata cross after just 16 minutes.
But he was replaced by Marcus Rashford after 25 minutes and left the field holding his hamstring.
Midfielder Carrick had to be withdrawn from the fray just after the hour mark in France.
Mourinho said: "I think him [Mkhitaryan] and Michael, I think they are both out.
"But this is based on my experience, not based on my medical knowledge, and not based on tests and what they have to do tomorrow and after tomorrow.
"I think no chance but, I repeat, it is just my experience. A calf and a hamstring, even if it is minor, some fibre damage, I think out."
Bastian Schweinsteiger could be in with a chance to play at Wembley at the weekend having come on in Carrick's place after the break, with Marouane Fellaini also involved after being named in the starting line-up.
"You can get hurt when you leave your house, you never know when or where," Mourinho added. "It is a result of so many games. But when someone's missing, it is the opportunity for another.
"Not having them before the final is complicated. But Marouane and Bastian, two players who do not play so much, gave good answers."
