Rui Faria disputes Paul Pogba yellow in Man Utd's draw with West Ham

Man Utd assistant manager Rui Faria says they should have beaten West Ham

Manchester United assistant manager Rui Faria felt the incident that led to Jose Mourinho's dismissal in the home draw with West Ham should have gone the other way.

Mourinho was sent to the stands in the first half for booting a water bottle in frustration after Paul Pogba was booked for diving.

"I didn't see the images on TV but I heard some people complaining because I think it's a foul that should be for us, not a yellow card," Faria told Sky Sports.

Asked about Mourinho's dismissal, Faria said : "It's the game, nothing to comment on that."

There was further frustration for United as they were held to a fourth straight home draw in the Premier League.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic cancelled out Diafra Sakho's early opener but United could not beat Darren Randolph again, with the West Ham keeper making several key stops.

"It was a bit of the same, a bit of what we are having at home," said Faria. "We are playing well, we deserved to win, and we didn't.

"We were the best team on the pitch and deserved much more than what we got.

"We dominated, created chances to win comfortably, but we are showing good things, the players are doing very well, the team is playing well and things aren't happening."

Despite the recent run of results at Old Trafford, Faria thinks United's form will soon improve.

"I think one day it will happen, we will start winning," he said. "And we hope that is the next one, because the team deserves much more than what we are getting."
