Pogba, who is currently preparing for France's Euro 2016 final against Portugal on Sunday, left United in 2012 on a free transfer, but could return to Old Trafford to earn up to £300,000-a-week.

He is currently contracted to the Serie A champions until 2019 and Del Piero believes his former club will be desperate to keep the 23-year-old for at least one more season.

"Pogba is a great player, has great potential and has already shown that to everybody," Del Piero told Sky Sports News HQ.
